A LIFE WELL LIVED
Remembering James
James Robert Carter was born in Atlanta, on March 8, 1948. A devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend, James met each day with faith, patience, and a generous spirit.
After graduating from Carver High School, James served in the United States Army from 1970 to 1990. When he returned home, he built a life centered on family and community. He loved Sunday dinners, tending his garden, mentoring young people, and cheering for his favorite team.
James leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Evelyn; children, Maria and David; four grandchildren; and a host of relatives, fellow veterans, neighbors, and dear friends. His steady love and quiet strength will remain with all who knew him.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
— Matthew 25:23

A REFLECTION
The Measure of a Life
A life is measured not in years alone,
but in the kindness freely given;
in the hands that made a house a home,
and the hope a quiet word awakened.
In every story shared today,
in every seed of love still growing,
his steady light will make a way
for all whose lives he touched to keep on going.
